Message from the president of the Administrative Agency of Gunsan Free Trade Zone
A free trade zone (FTZ) is an area organized to promote various incentives and improve the environment for the foreign direct investment of export-oriented corporations and foreign companies that set up in the zone. The objectives of the FTZ are to contribute to the economy by boosting foreign investment, trade, and international logistics, and to stimulate the region's development.
The Gunsan Free Trade Zone was established in October 2005 to provide a place for promising companies to take their businesses to a global level.
It is located in the center of the west coast industrial belt that interconnects the transportation of Gunsan Port, the Gunsan Airport, the Honam Expressway and the nation's abundant infrastructure.
It has served as a driving force for establishing a base to reach out to the newly emerging Saemangeum and the Pan-Yellow Sea Zone, creating employment, revitalizing the Jeonbuk Province economy, and promoting balanced national economic growth.
